If you like to write, all you need to do is right some articles either about your site or related to your site and post them to articles directories. Most will let you add a link back to your homepage which is great for free traffic.
Forum posting can get traffic to your site quickly. Search for a forum that is related to your site and join. Then post messages or reply’s that have some value or content. Don’t just go around spamming with your URL. Meet people and post often. Most forums will even let you add your homepage address to your messages.
Blogs just like forums are great if you can add value. Find blogs of related interests to your site and add quality posts for the readers. Remember if the readers enjoy your posts they will be more willing to check out your site.
Pay Per Click is a great way to get instant targeted traffic to your site but as it states you are paying for each click that comes through. If you researched other websites in your niche go ahead and email some of those webmasters. Offer to put their link on your homepage for the same in return. Though you may be sharing traffic with a competitor, you may also be offering different things for different customers.
